Jeff Sessions, Trump’s pick for attorney general, will likely renew fight against strong encryption

The federal government is expected to renew its assault on strong encryption under likely incoming Attorney General Jeff Sessions. President Trump, FBI Director James Comey, and Sessions himself have all attacked strong encryption and called for the creation of backdoors or mandated cooperation that would require companies to break their security measures when ordered to do so by the US government.
